Roundhand is a notebook app for iPad. We built it so that your notes are yours alone. The short version: Roundhand does not collect, store or share any personal data.

What stays on your iPad

Everything you create in Roundhand stays on your device: notebooks, handwriting, PDFs you import, pictures you add and your settings. It's saved in the app's Documents folder, which you can see in the Files app. It is never sent to us or to anyone else.

What we collect

Nothing. Roundhand has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking and no third-party SDKs. The app works fully offline and makes no network requests of its own.

Photos and camera

If you choose to insert a photo or scan a document, iPadOS asks for your permission. Roundhand only reads the pictures you select and stores a copy inside your notebook on your device.

Handwriting recognition

"Convert to Text" uses Apple's on-device Vision framework. Your handwriting is processed on your iPad and never uploaded.

Sharing and backups

When you export or share a notebook, you choose where it goes using the standard iPadOS share sheet. If you have iCloud or device backups turned on, Apple may include the app's data in those backups under Apple's own privacy policy.

Children

Roundhand does not collect data from anyone, including children.
